My Favorite Christmas Tree

As far as my memory goes, out of 20 people who I have asked more than 50% have already given the last touch up to their Christmas tree. However according to my calculation the rest who are left are contemplating the mode of decoration. We all want to do something different every year when it comes to decorating the tree but it results in more or less the same thing. I do not find a reason to be depressed. This is an age old ritual which we follow and there is nothing wrong to come up with a similar decoration. Happiness and satisfaction must lie in the fact that you have accomplished what you wanted to make out of the tree and you have put in all the effort to make it look the best. You dont need a Rockfeller Center at your place do you?
Here comes a few tips to brighten up your Christmas with your FAVORITE Christmas Tree.
1) Nurture your tree very well. Keep it watered and keep the frequency of watering perfect. The best way to keep the tree fresh is by cutting the stump and setting it in water immediately and then continuing the regime.
2) While decorating keep the sequence like this
First: put the lights on
Second: the garlands and
Third: the ornaments
Lights: Use the lights to decorate from the base and then weave by ascending upwards. Interlace from inside the branches slowly moving out.
Garlands: They have to be wrapped in the same way
Ornaments: Evenly distribute the filler ornaments around the tree. Don’t just keep them to the periphery The tree looks partially done up.
3) Decide upon specially themed ornaments. Introduce fairies and elves and pixies or the most popular cartoons that the younger ones love or you love. Wrap up toffees and lozenges in attractive packs and put them up the branches.
4) You can also make the tree of the color that you choose. The snowy white, the dazzling golden, the evergreen and the choice resides in you.
5) A christmas tree remains incomplete without that train below. Not that its necessary but if you want you can make a full township just below the tree.
These are just few tips from my side. Lets see what more I can come up with. Hope for the time being this will help many to give their tree their favorite touch up.

I have got a snowy Christmas tree this time
. I have not missed out on the train. My brother finds it really good. He has made it a point to construct a bridge along the railway. This is a great post and has so many points. I am still giving the last touch to my tree. These points will come in as useful. Thanks a lot.

I have got a fairy for my daughter. She put it on the tip of the tree. Thats a tradition and it looks great as well. Just that the fairy is a little big for the tree. Excellent tips .

What lovely pics laura. Even i’ve made some plans for the Christmas tree. i usually make much use of the post-christmas sales every year and i did the same last year. So, this year, I’m free now as I’ve done most of the shopping from the post christmas sales. But i got to buy the tree now - hey, are they available online? would that be ok, i mean cost wise? and, you know what, i got some great tips on christmas at http://www.mortgagefit.com/budgeting/51tips-christmas.html and i did share them with some of my friends. Wow! thats so cool..
I’d rather choose to do it the way you suggested. Certainly I don’t need another Rockfeller Center at my place, but my daughter Misty wants to show up balloons all over. Do you think it goes well with the color of my walls, when I tell you that its gottabe a green tree amidst greener pastures!

. It gives a feeling of warmth in the winters. Rebecca mentioned white and you green. So winter seems to be colorful with the spirit of merriment saved throughout the year for Christmas.

Excellent tips, these could be of great help to many. Although, I am almost done with the tree this year but still your tips will help me in giving the final touches. I really liked the idea of constructing a whole township around the tree, it will add an extra dimension to it. I would love to give it a shot and will let you know the final result

Last Christmas I had used loads of candies to decorate the tree and it was an instant hit with the kids. I would be using candies this Christmas too

I was contemplating as to what unique could i do to make my Christmas tree look different this time?Your post is really the best option that anybody can refer to in such a case.However,i shall not disclose this to my friends as i want to make my Christmas Tree different.Thanks Laura.

Its great that you are keeping it a secret, but do let it out once Christmas is over :). We would love to know how different your tree had been and want to take ideas from it.
